Why you need more water in your diet

We are all well aware of the importance of water in your diet but how can water actually help you to lose weight and become healthier. Many people often overlook the importance of water and making sure you consume enough each day. The recommendation is to drink at least 64 ounces of water per day. Men should try to drink more and any exercise will also up your necessary intake. So how can drinking more water be helping when trying to lose weight? First off, drinking water means that you are not drinking some other caloric drink with tons of sugar to hydrate yourself. Second, many people often mistake thirst for hunger and will start snacking when they are actually just dehydrated. Another benefit of drinking more water is that it will help you feel full when eating a meal and you will likely eat less.
Lastly, when losing weight, your body is metabolizing fat and other waste products and being more hydrated will help you flush these things out of the body. One study has shown that drinking a large glass of cold water when you wake up in the morning will actually jump start your metabolism for the day.

With all of this being said, water is not some magic weight loss cure that can immediately start helping you shed pounds, but the benefits are crucial. Making a conscious effort to drink more water throughout the day, especially in the morning and before meals will definitely aid in your weight loss and overall better health.
