Turnip Fry Recipe


Hi friends! Now if you know me you know one of my weaknesses is French fries, so today I wanted to share with you a healthier substitute…turnip fries! Turnips are a root vegetable with a starchy flavor just like a potato, we have used them as a substitute for potatoes in a few other recipes also,they roast up very well with just a few spices on top. But lets get to the turnip fry recipe!


2 lbs Turnips

1 tbls Olive Oil

1 tbls Lawry’s Seasoning Salt

½ c. Parmesan Cheese

Directions: Preheat the oven to 425° and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up. Peel the turnips and cut into thin French fry sized sticks (Freddy’s sized French fries ;) Add the turnips, olive oil, and seasoning to a zip lock bag and shake until the turnips are evenly coated. Spread the turnips on the baking sheet making sure they are not touching. Bake for 20 minutes then sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top and stir. Cook for 10 more minutes or until the outside of the fries are becoming crispy. Serve with ketchup and enjoy!
