Tabata Training

A favorite at home workout of mine is Tabata, you must be wondering what in the heck is that? Tabata is a high intensity workout that last only 4 minute. my kind of work out! Tabata was discovered by a Japanese scientist Dr. Izumi Tabata (hints the name) he discovered that high intensity interval training has more impact on both the aerobic and anaerobic systems. So how do you perform Tabata? Tabata workouts last only four minutes, you workout for 20 seconds then rest for 10 seconds and complete 8 rounds for a total of 4 minutes. The purpose is to push your self as hard as your can for 20 seconds and then rest for 10 seconds. You can perform pretty much any exercise you want, you can make it more cardio based by using exercises like high knees, squat jumps, burpees, and mountain climbers, or more strength based by using exercises like pushups, full sit-ups, rows, and weighted squats. Tabata is a great way to get a quick workout in. If you’re short on time or are just feeling uncreative give Tabata a try!
