Schools Out!

Schools out… now what? With the kids home for the summer it is easy for them to want to sit in front of the television or to want to play video games all day. As parents, we need to motivate them in order to get daily activity. During school they are forced to go to recess and gym class and that helps with their activity levels. An easy way to get more activity is to have a time set aside daily that you do some sort of activity with the kids. This way the kids know daily activity is a requirement. Some fun activities to do while getting some exercise are going on a bike ride, playing tag, going on a scavenger hunt, practicing their favorite sport, jumping rope, or any thing else that gets the kids moving. As parents we have to encourage healthy habits and daily activity is necessary for kids to lead a healthy and happy life!
