New Years Resolutions

Each year millions of people state their New Years Resolutions and each year millions of people give up on those resolutions by February 1st. A few of my New Years resolutions are to stretch more often (hopefully daily) eat cleaner (watch the processed food!) and find something good in each day (I feel that a lot of us just get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and forget to notice the good things that happen each day).

Below I have listed a few ways to stick to your New Years Resolutions:
1. Keep it simple. If you already work 40 hours a week it will probably be difficult to pick up 3 new hobbies for the year. Don’t have too many resolutions.
2. Make one change at a time: you might have many resolutions but it is hard to become a completely different person over night. Change one thing at a time and then move on to the next,
3. Break it up: If your New Years Resolution is to loose 50 lbs that seems extremely daunting. How about loose 10 lbs by spring break and so on.
4. Write your resolutions down and have them somewhere you can regularly see them. It’s easy to forget that you want to limit the amount of times you raise your voice a day if you are not reminded every day you walk by that little note.
5. Understand it will take time and there will be speed bumps along the way. One bad day should not result in a bad week and so on. Keep working on it and it will get easier each day.

What are some of your New Years resolutions? Are they the same as last year or are they different?
