Myofascial Release

We talk about foam rolling and myofascial release often during training sessions and on the blog. When you are foam rolling or performing any myofascial release techniques you are actually working on your body’s soft tissue or fascia. Soft tissue or fascia is located under the skin and wraps around or connects muscles, bones, nerves, and blood vessels to the body. Unfortunately your muscles and fascia can tear or become tight which can cause injuries and restrict your muscle movement. Myofascial release puts pressure on these tight areas and gives release to the tight muscles, which then decreases your pain. Myofascial release can be performed with your fingers, a foam roller, or body balls of varying size and stiffness. If you have questions about how to perform myofascial release please come into Live Fit today. As always, LIVE FIT!
