Mistakes that make cravings worse

We have all been there, it’s 9:00 at night and all that sounds good to you is a big chocolate brownie! What can we do to make cravings more manageable? Take a look at the list below of mistakes that make cravings not seem so horrible.


1. Not eating breakfast can make cravings worse in the day.


2. Your serving is too big, so you give into your craving but instead of having 1 serving of chips you eat the entire bag. Make sure to measure out your servings so you do not over indulge. Maybe try having half a serving and then eating something healthy to stifle your hunger.


3. You don’t do anything about your craving. Most of the time the craving is not going to go away so try substituting your craving with something else. If you are craving candy try to eat some sweet fruit.


4. You are not doing anything, if you are just sitting and watching television the craving will be worse! Get up and get moving, go on a walk, do a load of laundry, just anything to get your mind off of the craving.


5. You pile on the guilt, going into a friends birthday party and restricting yourself from eating any cake will only make the craving worse! Maybe bring your own dish that you know you like, or have half a slice of cake if it sounds extremely good!
