We all know that girl who can eat cake and candy like crazy and never gain a pound, some people are just blessed with a high metabolism. Your metabolism is essentially the rate you burn calories. This can be affected by your age, sex, and even your genes, but luckily there are a few ways to speed up your metabolism! First, try to slash your fat intake; fatty foods slow down your calorie burn so swap out some fatty foods for lower fat options. Next make sure you are staying hydrated, water is necessary to keep your metabolism at a high rate. You can also try drinking ice-cold water because your body will warm it up and burn extra calories. Another way to increase your metabolism is to begin strength training; muscle burns nine times more calories than fat. Also make sure you do not skip sleep! Skipping sleep can lower your calorie burn for the next day. Also DO NOT crash diet, this can send your body into starvation mode, which makes your body hang onto every calorie.
